At the end of the world

Kicking it?

One day, while SFMom was at a yoga class, SFDad decided to drive to the “end of the line” in northern Kaua`i.  After passing a dozen or so one-lane bridges, the world of pavement ends at Ha`Ena Beach Park.  The beach was surprisingly busy for being so far out of the way, but one only had to walk a few hundred yards to the east to find relative solitude.

This is also the closest that we got to having bad weather on the trip.  Despite The Weather Channel’s predictions of rain for all eight days of our vacation, we ended up with mostly-sunny skies for almost the entire time!  (Every day of the trip, TWC would tell us that the next 5 days were predicted to be rainy…and it was never accurate.  Locals tell us that TWC is basically a joke on Kaua`i, and that you have to tune in to the local media to get an accurate weather forecast.)

Help! I’m stuck in my Lief hat!

In these photos, you can see that SFBaby finally got tired of hanging out in the carseat (or perhaps SFDad might have also gotten a wee bit tired of carrying it?) and is sprawling out here on her very own beach towel.
