Babyzilla
We had grand plans to take SFBaby to the park to shuffle around, so her lack of current footwear prompted SFDad to visit the local shoe store. His first reaction: baby shoes cost $30?!? Perhaps Sketchers was not quite the best place to go bargain shopping, but this still seemed a little ridiculous.
After a little searching, SFDad was able to find a great pair on sale for “only” $15. The only problem was size: like SFMom and SFDad, SFBaby seems to have big feet. The model that caught our eye was size 4, but this was too small for her 7½ month old feet. The next step up was a jump to size 5½ (did we mention that we were in the sale aisle?). While this shoe was somewhat large, SFDad reasoned that she would probably grow into it. $16.28 later, he walked out with his second SFBaby clothing purchase in his lifetime.
The only glitch came when we arrived at home and tried the shoes on in front of SFMom. She pointed out (quite correctly) that the babymonster seemed to be wearing boats on her feet and that she was having trouble moving around in them. This reinforced SFDad’s long-held belief that buying clothing for people of the fairer sex is an activity fraught with peril.
Luckily for SFDad, time heals all wounds…and it also causes feet to get bigger. The shoes are still a little large, but SFBaby is now very comfy in her flashy pink and white shoes, and she’s able to cruise like a champ while wearing them!
