There goes the baby…
It so happens that SFDad needs to make an emergency trip to the east coast tomorrow. Since SFMom has to work, and since SFDad can’t exactly call in sick from his stay-at-home dad job, this means that SFBaby gets to go too!
SFMom is a little sad that the baby is going away for so long, but it’s also a bit of an exciting adventure for us two. It’s also slightly intimidating to travel alone with a nine-month-old. For a nine-hour itinerary. With a layover. To a place that has really, really cold weather.
I used to be a veteran frequent flyer (I still have “silver” status on two airlines), which means that I got used to fitting all of my stuff into carry-on luggage. Always. While people have been saying that having kids is going to the end of the “no checked bags” era, after the results of my “test pack” this morning, I am determined to make it work. A stroller? Bah—who needs it? Stuffing five days of diapers, clothing and other supplies into a rollie? No problem. Or so I hope. I’ll provide more updates when I get back next week (and let you know whether or not I had to “cheat”).
Anyway, I think SFMom needs some ideas for what she should do with her copious amounts of free time during this 5-day “babycation”. Please supply your thoughts in the comments section below!

SLEEP!!!!
She will need it for when you come back exhausted and need extra rest!
take care of a DIFFERENT baby
If I had a babycation – well, I would sleep, sleep, sleep. Unfortunately, Daddy has some daddycation at the moment and is in the middle of the dessert – where I wish our sweet baby would be when she is demanding “more milk” in the middle of the night.
Guess, you happyness is there where you aren’t …
Have a good time being on your own!
