We are followers of the “frozen food cube” method popularized by the Super Baby Food book, which means that creating her buffet is as easy as opening the freezer and pulling out a few cubes of whatever. (We just won’t talk about the hours SFDad spends slaving away at the food processor with his hands covered in sweet potato puree.)
In keeping with the Swedish smörgåsbord theme, we got a fun ice cube tray from IKEA® that produces really long sticks of frozen things ‡, which results in some rather oddly-shaped “cubes” of food for SFBaby to eat. Here, you can see her dining on a scrumptious-looking selection of broccoli, cauliflower and eggplant!
‡: friendlyneighbortothenorth will be happy to note that we are following her advice about trying not to buy baby products from baby stores. Total cost for our ice cube tray: $1.99!

Doesn’t that just get your goat that they charge you FIFTEEN BUCKS for an ice cube tray in a baby store? WHACK. I hate that.
Do you really give her a good smack?
Uh, I think that’s something different…
I’m a SFMom and I used the food cube method too. I was so inspired by the whole thing – I wrote a website (as SFs tend to do) check it out: http://www.babyfood101.com
I hope it is helpful. Lisa
