Hanging out with Schnell the snail.

When we were “filming” the last video, SFDad noticed that SFBaby was able to pick up the names for things quickly. For example, when one of our friends’ kids was visiting a few weeks ago, she named the Scary Bear “Rose.” Much to our surprise, SFBaby remembered this name easily and we can now ask her to “go get Rose.”

We are certainly awestruck by her newfound power to associate names with inanimate objects in short periods of time. I mean, this is the same wriggling little baby that still gives me a blank stare when I ask her to go open up a bottle of wine from the fridge, right?

Now that we see how quickly she is picking things up, SFMom and SFDad realize that we have a golden opportunity to get her addicted to the knowledge of life. Of course, with great power comes great responsibility: while we’ve previously mentioned that SFMom is generally content to simply anthropomorphize toys and to decide on their genders, SFDad now feels like he should actually start naming all of the toys. That isn’t entirely an abuse of power, is it?
